Nine to five jobs are becoming more and more rare in this day and age. People more often work form home, or do a lot of work on the internet, or do house-calls. It's an interesting breakdown in the office-work paradigm. But more importantly, this change means that people are, in fact, spending more time at home.
And one great thing to do when you work from hme is to make sure you ave a clear, designated space in which to do it. There is pretty much nothing so annoying as having someone come sit with you while you're trying to work and start bugging you, or stand over you and start asking a bunch of useless questions, or decide that you need to have a 'talk' when all you want to do is get your work done. The other most annoying thing in the world is living with someone who talks to themselves CONSTANTLY. only crazy people do that. And it's really really annoying, because it draws your attention but there is nothing for you to do with the information, so it's entirely useless. It's basically the other person saying to you that their thought are more important than everyone else's and therefore everyone else should have to listen to them constantly. That every single thing they are doing is imminently fascinating and everyone in the near vacinity should be paying attention to it.
Trying to get work done around one of these people is nearly impossible.
That's why an office space away form the actual house itself might just be the very thing. A garage office has many advantages, one of them being that you can open the garage door and let in the sunshine, and then close the garage door when it's raining and you just want to be cozy.
