On Saturday, two suspects were taken into custody for the alleged burglary of several cars in Lee County. The Deputy of the Sheriff's Office personally responded to the emergency call from a homeowner around two-thirty AM. The homeowner reported to the authorities that his dog woke him up by barking ferociously, and also the sound of his garage door opening and closing chimed in a moment later. Apparently, when he then went to go investigate these strange night noises, he spotted two men who were wearing black clothing. They ran out from under his garage door and sprinted down his long driveway. At roughly the same time, the Office of the Sheriff got yet another phone call from a homeowner just down the street, reporting another burglary. These homeowners (The Munsons) reported that their home had been broken into by not one but several suspects.
Mr. Munson reported that he was in the middle of a television program when he heard a strange sound coming from the living room. He also went to go discover what it was, and saw a man dressed in dark clothes standing in the middle of the room. The man signaled to another man to leave, and they both ran out form the garage door. Mr. Munson woke his father and went to check on the garage, where five of their cars had been completely ransacked. Apparently, though, nothing had been taken.
In addition, officers were able to track down several of the stolen items from different homes. The two young men have been arrested in connection with the burglaries, charged with burglary of a vehicle, a dwelling, and larceny.
