Once again,
airplane crashes are in the news. An
Airblue (a private airline) passenger jet went down in Pakistan during a
rainstorm with reports of 152 passengers and crew dead.
There was also a
crash recently of a private plane in Oshkosh, WI that was piloted by Jack
Roush, one of the owner’s of NASCAR’s Roush Fenway Racing that fields the
largest number of racing crews in NASCAR.
Both Roush and his passenger survived and this is not the first time
that Roush has been involved in a plane crash, having survived a previous crash
in 2002 where he was seriously injured and nearly drowned when he crashed into
a pond in Alabama.
It always seems
somewhat of a miracle when anyone survives a plane crash and when there are
large numbers of survivors, the crash story often winds up being turned into a
made for television movie of the week.
Though summer news broadcasts seem to be full of bad news about plane
crashes, they really are a rare event.
Damage to garage
doors is not so rare. Even the best built garage doors can suffer damage. When Joe and Jane Homeowner’s son, Joe
Junior, crashes the car into the garage door, they can call the local garage
door repairman who can come out and fix the garage door and they are out only a
little money. Calling in a quality
garage door service with a good reputation takes the hassle out of the
situation, and really very little damage is done. The event is unlikely to be
on the evening news.
A garage door
that is damaged by a car (or any object) can be replaced fairly easily. A car that might damage the garage door badly
enough for the garage door serviceman to have to come out might lose a piece or
two of molded plastic or bumper or need to replace a headlight or
taillight. Even the damages to the
vehicle are often easily and inexpensively fixed.
Though summer
news broadcasts might be full of sad events, it is still summer and a time to
relax. Switch off the television,
invite some neighbors over, and enjoy the good things in life. Open up the
garage door and pull out some folding chairs. Set up the sprinkler in the
driveway for the neighborhood kids to cool off. Before you know it, summer will
be ending and the news will be full of stories about kids going back to school.
