In West Los Angeles on
Tuesday, a woman was charged by police with several offenses, including but not
limited to driving while intoxicated and destruction of property. Authorities
found her Hummer smashed into the garage door of one of her neighbors. She was
uninjured, but the garage door itself was destroyed.

Apparently, Tuesday morning
at 4:30 AM, a patrolman received an anonymous tip that someone was driving and
‘weaving all over the place’ on Mountaingate Road near the 405, and had already
smashed into a fence.

Officers responded to the
call, and the caller then provided an address on Wilhemina Road, a small
sul-de-sac that the vehicle turned into. When police arrived on the scene, the
vehicle has already collided with the garage door of  an innocent homeowner near the end of the road.  Inside the house, the perpetrator was
unconscious on a couch.

When she came to, she was
slurring her speech and had difficulty maintaining balance while walking. She
was arrested, and charged with five different counts, including driving while
intoxicated, failure to report a crash, reckless endangerment, and leaving the
scene.

What the police don’t mention is the sad destruction to the
entrance of someone’s home. Guess they’ll have to turn to garage door service
people to sympathize with their plight- the door was a brand-new wooden
masterpiece with windows and a gorgeous varnish.

Luckily, they had purchased insurance when they had it
installed.
