Although not currently available on the market, a patent is pending for a light-up garage door display. Described as a decorative and illuminated cover assembly for garage doors, it will be for exterior use, durable enough to withstand the weather but also capable of lighting up like a string of lights. It will also allow the garage door to open and shut normally.
Installation of this new invention may end up being somewhat involved- you will need to attach several cover panels, each one with its part of the overall image. Each par will have wiring that connects to the next.
It will basically be similar to the 'santa's workshop' decorations we mentioned last week, but visible at night! And hopefully they will offer some more sedate images- some nice falling snowflakes, for example.
Unfortunately, no products will be on the line for this Christmas, but look to future holiday seasons for the opportunity to bedeck your garage door with some gently twinkling lights.
In the meantime, enough tape around the outer edges of your garage could work quite nicely. And if you don't actively open the garage daily to put your car in it, you could even tape lights to the door itself in a nice arrangement.
