An interesting news story came to my attention recently- a woman who uses her garage door as a mode of expression for her civil unrest, let's call it. Mrs. Geist is a housewife and mother with big opinions and no intention of keeping quiet about them.
But Cindy Geist is no loud-mouthed activist- she expressed her message in an entirely different medium. On her garage door.
She painted a huge sign on her garage door, which faces the street and is the largest continuous surface on the faade of her home. The sign reads: "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore." But the more angry she became with the bailouts and spending the government (on both sides of the aisle) has been doing, the bigger and bolder her sign became.
She now updates her garage door with removable statements, usually with classic quotes from historical figures and ex-presidents.
Her antics have become the talk of the neighborhood, and others have noted that she's one of a few who actually speaks her mind in town. It's up in the air how effective her tactics actually are- it can be argued that the people who live near her likely have similar views and therefore her message isn't actually reaching anyone who actually might be affected by it.
But it's certainly the most creative use of a garage door that we've seen in a while!
